Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Sunday night arrested an alleged killer in connection with killing a Madrasa student from city’s outskirts Keraniganj.
Taking to the Bangladesh Post, RAB Legal and Media Wing Senior Assistant Director ANM Emran Khan confirmed it on Monday
The arrested was identified as Md Mokbul Hossian, 37, son of one Ali Hossain, hailing from South Keraniganj.
According to the case statement, madrasa student Md Towhidul Islam went on missing on February 10.
He was a student of a local madrasa at Rosulpur area of South Keraniganj.
After his missing, family members searched him in various placed . But they failed to trace Towhid.
At one stage, the family members received a phone call. The caller demanded Tk 3 lakh as ransom.
Later victim’s mother lodged a case with local police station. She also complained to the elite force for rescuing the boy.
During the primary interrogation, arrested Mokbul admitted his involvement in killing Towhid after abduction.
RAB official said kidnaper took ransom Tk 3 lakh even after killing the innocent boy.
The criminal hided the body of the child at a safety tank of a house at Keraniganj.
