Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a fugitive convict from Kashimpur area of Gazipur district on early Wednesday.
Talking to the Bangladesh Post, Lt Col Arif Mohiuddin, Commander Officer of the RAB-3 confirmed it on Wednesday.
The arrested was identified as Md Nasim Morol, 53. He was a top drug dealer at Sadar Upazila of Gopalganj district, said RAB-3 Senior Assistant Director Md Arifur Rahman.
He is the son of one Kawser Ali, hailing from Chandpur village under Debhata Upazila of Satkhira district.
Getting secret information, a team of RAB-3 raided at Kashimpur area of Gazipur district on early Wednesday and nabbed Nasim.
He was wanted in several cases including in Gopalganj district.
After being arrested, Nasim was in jail. Later he secured bail and went on absconding without attending in the hearings of the cases against him.
At one stage, the court sentenced him life term imprisonment in his absence.
He was hiding in different places of the country. However, RAB finally arrested him.
He was handed over to the local police, said RAB-3 boss Lt Col Arif.
