The convicted absconding accused Mizanur Rahman (37) was arrested by In Jamalpur RAB-14's raid onFriday from Palshapara. The arrested Mizanur Rahman is the son of Montaj Ali of Khailkura village of JhenaigatiPolice Station in Sherpur district.
Jamalpur RAB-14 CPC Squadron Leader Company Commander AshiqUzzaman disclosed in the press release that GholamMostafa of Joydevpur area used to live in the rented house of accused Mizanur Rahman's father.
On May 11, 2008, Aminur Islam Sumon (10), a madrasa student of GolamMustafar, was kidnapped and demanded a ransom of Tk 1 lakh. In this incident Suman's father filed aidnapping case (No-45 (5)/08) at Joydevpur police station. After the case, the accused went into hiding.
On March 13, 2023, the accused Mizanur Rahman was sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment without paying a fine of Tk. Accused Mizanur Rahman, who has been in hiding for 15 years, has been handed over to Jhenaigati police station after his arrest.
