The Rapid Action Battalion arrested three motorcycle thieves and recovered three stolen motorcycles in Bajitpur upazila of Kishoreganj.
The arrests and recovery were made after a team of RAB-14 from Bhairab Camp conducted a drive at automobile garage in the upazila’s Pailanpur area.
The arrestees have been identified as Jummon Mia, 32, son of Late Angur Commissioner, Momen Mia, 25, son of Towhid Mia from village Poilanpur, and Choton Mia, 26, son of Shajahan Mia from West Bajitpur village of Bajitpur upazila.
RAB- 14 Deputy Director (CPC- 3) and Additional Supervenient of Police Rafiuddin Mohammad Jobayer said a motorcycle theft ring has been stealing motorcycles from Kishoreganj and surrounding districts for long and selling those in different places including Kishoreganj district.
Tipped-off, RAB raided Jumman Mia’s auto garage in Pailanpur village around 4am on Sunday and arrested the trio in possession with three unregistered bikes – two Bajus Pulsars and a TVS Apache.
A case was field with Bajitpur Police Station in this connection.
