Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-14 have arrested 2 peddlers with fake notes, currency printing equipment in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga. RAB officials on Monday noon attend a press conference and informed about the operation.
The arrestees in the operation are Sazzad Alam and Jakaria Mamun. 1,45,000 tk of fake currency was obtained from those two, RAB officials stated.
Senior Assistant Director of RAB-6 Legal and Media Department Md Bazlur Rashid at a press conference stated that, receiving information, a team of RAB-14 conducted a drive at Jibannagar upazila. During thej operation, they obtained 160 pieces of fake 500 currency, 65 of fake 1000 currency, 1 computer, 2 printers and other equipment to print fake currency from Modern Studio in the area. Two were arrested at the spot. They are linked with other fake currency making organizations, RAB officials informed.
Md Bazlur Rashid at the press conference said that such drives will be continued to curb the crime rate in the country. He also mentioned that legal processes are ongoing regarding this case.
