The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested 11 members of a ‘gang of robbers’ from Chattogram’s Shah Amanat Airport road and Agrabad commercial areas in a series of drive on Saturday night.
Based on secrete information, a mobile team of RAB has detained the inter-district robber gang from the airport road area here last night who were taking preparation to commit robbery, extortion, theft of CNG taxis from the expatriates.
The arrested persons were identified as Md. Rubel, 31, Shafi alias Mizainna Chora, 29, Jahangir Alam Sohag, 28, Moazzem Hossain, 34, Yasin Arafat Minar, 25, Zamir, 45, Saikat, 22, Habibul Kibria alias Arman ,22, Milton Dey, 29 and Qaiser Hamid, 34.
They are the residents of the port city and its adjacent district of Chattogram division.
RAB described the details of the operation at a media briefing at the RAB-7 headquarters in Chattogram on Susnday.
