Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Saturday arrested two members of an international human trafficking gang from Feni.

Talking to the Bangladesh Post, RAB-3 Commanding Officer Lt Col Rakibul Hasan confirmed it.

According to the RAB-3 boss,  they arrested human traffickers were identified as Md. Mubarak Ullah ,33 and Md. Saiful Islam ,42, both hailing from the Feni district.

As per complained lodged by one Md Golam Mawla,  son of  late Abdul Hakim Mia hailing from Kendurpar under Begumganj Upazila of Noakhali district, the elite force  made the arrests, he added. The arrested human traffickers proposed Golam to send his son abroad with high salary.

They also lured him saying that it would cost only Tk 500,000  to send his son in Europe.

As part of their conspiracies, the arrested criminals informed Golam that the duty would be only six hours a day and accommodation will be totally free.  After every two years, two ways tickets will be provided by the employers.

Being convinced, Golam gave them money. But the arrested criminals were making dilly dally to send Golam’s son to Poland.

At one stage, they claimed that instead of sending Poland, they will send his son to Hungary. But that was also false. When Golam pressured them to immediately send his son abroad, they demanded another Tk  50,000. Victim’s father also paid the amount.

At that stage, the human traffickers brought the victim to India through a flight of Indigo Airlines in the name of sending Croatia.

They make the victim hostage and demanded another 500,000, unless threatened to sell the victim, said ASP Farzana Haque of RAB-3.

Sensing troubles, the father of the victim submitted a complain to RAB. Later RAB raided at Jagatpur area under Daganbhuiyan police station of Feni district on  Saturday night and arrested the duo.

RAB also sized  two passports from their possession, said ASP Farzana, who is the Assistant Director( Media) of RAB-3.

During the primary  interrogation, the criminals  admitted that they trafficked  the victim for ill motive.
