Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an alleged arms peddler with two foreign pistols, four magazines and eight rounds of bullet from Gomostapur in the district on Tuesday afternoon.
The arrested was Md Abdur Razzaq Razu, 26, of Suranpur village under Bholahat Upazila in Chapainawabganj district.
RAB said, an operation team of RAB-5 from Chapainawabganj camp on detective information, conducted a raid in Belal Bazar area under Gomostapur Upazila in the district at around 5 pm and arrested Razu with the arms and ammunition.
Razu collected the arms and ammunition from Sonamasjid area and he was going to Rohonpur by a passenger van, the sources added.
Later, the elite force handed him over to the police of Gomostapur thana with a case.
