The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) has launched an operation in Chattogram on Tuesday morning on charges of producing, storing and selling adulterated, substandard and unhealthy food items.
Several teams of RAB have been conducting operations in Chattogram city since Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, a mobile court is being set up against unscrupulous traders for producing, storing and selling adulterated, substandard and unhealthy food products.
RAB Assistant Director (Media) NurulAbshar confirmed the matter to News on Tuesday afternoon.
He said, "Like all over the country, a mobile court headed by the executive magistrates of the district administration has been operating since this morning on charges of production, storage and sale of adulterated, substandard and unhealthy food items." Several teams of RAB are working in different areas of the city.
Details will be announced at the end of the operation. Earlier, the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) raided the Chittagong office in Hathazari and arrested 22 brokers and 7 brokers from Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMC) and sentenced them by a mobile court.
