Rab-7 has arrested suspect Mohammad Mahbub Alam, escaped from police custody in handcuffs in the Pathantuli Gayebi Mosque area under Doublemooring police station in Chattogram.
He was arrested from Faizullah Balir Bari area under Chandgaon police station in the city on Sunday. The arrested Md. Mahbub Alam (43) is the son of Md. Fazal Karim of Jafar Sawdagar Bari in Pathantuli area of Doublemooring police station.
On September 22, Mahbub was handcuffed and taken to a police vehicle in front of the Pathantuli Gayebi Mosque in the city. At this time, an argument started between the police and some people present. Taking this opportunity, Mahbub, who was wearing a lungi, threw off his lungi and fled from the vehicle.
RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) ARM Mozaffar Hossain said that Mahbub was arrested in a drive in the Chandgaon police station area of the city at around 4:45 am on Sunday based on a secret information. The CDMS of the absconding accused Mohammad Mahbub Alam, escaped from police custody in handcuffs. Information was found against him in 6 cases of sabotage and drugs in different police stations of Chattogram district and Chittagong metropolis. He has been handed over to the Double Mooring police station for legal action.
