Quick response teams formed in Cox’s Bazar to combat Covid-19

Cox’s Bazaar district administration has formed a ‘Quick Response Team’ to free Cox’s Bazaar free from the grip of Coronavirus infection.

It is learnt, the number of Corona infected patients is being gradually increased in Cox’s Bazaar district sadar area, mainly in Cox’s Bazaar town.  

Coronavirus has not still been spread in other upazilas of the district except in Jhalingjar and Bangla Bazaar areas under Cox’s Bazaar municipality.

Cox’s Bazaar district administration has formed a ‘Qucik Response Team’ to resist spread of Corona in  the places where the disease has not spread so far.

Cox’s Bazaar Deputy Commi­ssioner Kamal Hossain presided over an online meeting on Saturday with the concerned officials on the backdrop of an alarming increase of number of Corona patients in the municipal areas. 

Among others, the meeting was participated by Superintendent of Police ABM MasudHossain, Civil Surgeon Md. MahbuburRahman, District Awami League President Ed. Sirajul Mostafa, Municipal Awami League President Najibul Islam, Deputy Director, Local Government, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Ashraful Abshar, Additional District Magistrate Shahjahan Ari, Additio­nal Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Masudur Rahman Mollah and Sadar UNO.

Decision was taken in the meeting to form three Quick Response Teams (ABCs) in each ward comprising of representatives from ward councilors, social welfare department, health department, police force, community police and upazila administration. 

The committees will carry out overall responsibilities inclu ding ensuring isolation and quarantine of corona infected persons, contact tracing, tracing of  victims and providing necessary assistance.
