A section of agitated customers of QCoom on Saturday demanded the refund of their paid money as the e-commerce shop failed to deliver the goods on time.
"When we approached QCoom owner Ripon Mia for refund, his friend chief security officer of the company and Mohammadpur thana Jubo League leader Tanveer of threatened us. He gave different excuses at different times, the customers complained at a human chain in front of the Shahbagh museum in the capital on Saturday.
At the human chain, they said Ripon Mia, the owner of QCoom.com, uses his company's Facebook page to advertise various products. We order various products after seeing his advertisement. But he failed to deliver the goods on time. Even though three years have already been past, we are not even getting the principal amount paid, let alone delivering the products.
The customers also said that they paid for the products through direct bank deposit to Qcoom's bank account in addition to gateway company Foster Corporation and various mobile banking. Due to the escrow system, the money paid through mobile banking with the support of the government has been returned to some customers through the payment gateway company Foster Corporation Limited, but they have not received the money paid through the bank.
They said, "Although we have complained to the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection against each of our orders, but we have not received any solution from there so far."
The affected customers of QCoom in the human chain demanded that the list of all customers' due money should be submitted to the Ministry of Commerce, the list should be published directly on QCoom's Facebook page and the money should be cleared quickly.
Besides, the customers demanded the confiscation of the passports of QCoom owner Ripon Mia, Jubo League leader Tanveer Chowdhury and Ripon Mia's family to prevent them from fleeing the country.
