Al-Amin, Mayor of Puthia Municipality and former General Secretary of Puthia Upazila BNP, Rajshahi, on Monday has been charged with the violation case of a college girl.
Accused Mayor Al Amin went into hiding following the filing of the case.
The victim, an undergraduate final year student, alleged that she went to the Mayor at the Municipality for a job at the municipality a year ago. But, by tempting her to offer the job, he raped her and also promised to marry her. But, did not give her the job and recently he also denied to marry her. When she protested such a breach of his promise, he ( Mayor) threatened to kill her, she alleged.
Suhrawardy Hossain, Officer-in-charge of Puthia Police Station informed, the alleged victim, college student has been sent to the One Stop Crisis Centre at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for medical tests.
Earlier, a nurse of a local private clinic under the municipality also sued Mayor Al Amin for allegedly violating her on April-11, 2021.
