Journalists in Jhenaidah held a silent march and sit-in protest on Sunday morning, demanding justice for the murder of journalist Tuhin in Gazipur and an end to the ongoing harassment and persecution of journalists across the country.

Organised by the Jhenaidah Multimedia Journalists’ Association, the protest began at the organisation’s office and proceeded through key roads and locations in the town. Participants wore black cloths over their mouths as a symbol of protest, ending the march with a sit-in demonstration at Post Office Square. Speakers at the event, including the association’s convener M R Russell, member secretary Sheikh Imon, Jhenaidah Press Club general secretary Amirul Islam Liton, senior journalist Delowar Kabir, District Reporters Unity president M A Kabir, cultural activist Shahanur Rahman Liton, advocate Asadul Islam, and organiser-researcher Sujon Biplob, called for exemplary punishment of those involved in journalist killings. They also demanded an immediate end to false cases, harassment, and all forms of abuse against journalists across Bangladesh.
