The prime reason why any university is set up in a country is for carrying out research to create knowledge. This, in turn, takes precedence over selling of undergraduate certificates. However, despite there being so many public universities in the country the research output rate has diminished drastically.

As per a report published in this daily, public universities in the country are gradually lagging behind in the research arena despite it is one of the major tasks of universities. One-fourth of the universities are not doing any research. Besides, more than 90 percent of the researches are not being published in international journals because of being below standard.

There is no difference between a school and

a university if there is no research. The condition

of private universities is more miserable

This practice of under grade scholarly writing has expanded into the ranks of faculty members of public universities. Even more so, the standard deteriorates further when the practice of plagiarism comes up. Also, the report further elaborates that universities have now become mere certificate providing institutions. There is no difference between a school and a university if there is no research. The condition of private universities is more miserable.

This below standardised position of public universities has become a regular thing in the country. More focus is given on selling certificates rather than furthering research in the country. In this continuation a despairing scene has also come forth in the education disbursing system in the coronavirus time.

We hope that the condition of the public universities will turn around in future. A more research-oriented administration will definitely benefit these institutions.

Above all, the country and government needs to focus on maintaining standardised system which is followed all around the world.
