Public awareness on train travel stressed

Beware of ‘unconsciousness’ and ‘malam’ parties in train travel, stone pelting on moving trains and traveling on roofs, drug carrying, theft of railway parts (nuts, bolts, sleepers etc.) stop, railway crossing, black marketing of tickets and caution in train travel, vandalism in trains and railway lines.  

Chittagong Railway Police visited Cox's Bazar Railway Station and conducted public awareness and beat policing activities about not boarding the train while it is in motion and to be careful when crossing railway lines. Railway Police Headquarters Dhaka, DIG (Administration) Md. Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan, BPM (Bar) were present in this awareness programme.

The programme has been started from Sunday morning.  Under the chairmanship of Railway Police Superintendent Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury, a discussion on public awareness beat policing was organised in the newly constructed Dohazari-Cox's Bazar route railway station area in Cox's Bazar district.

Railway Police Headquarters Dhaka, DIG (Administration) Md Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan was present on the occasion as the chief guest.  

Also Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chittagong Railway Police Station, local public representatives, railway officials and employees, shopkeepers, and people living along the railway line, were present.

He said, “Our regular activities are being conducted with the aim of making train travel comfortable and easy for the passengers. 

Various measures have been taken by the Railway Police including prevention of stone pelting on moving trains, taking no food from strangers, protecting passengers from the clutches of ‘malam’ party.  

As a part of this awareness activities are going on in different areas and colonies.

He urged the pasengers to refrain from eating food and drinks offered by strangers while traveling in train.  

The speakers said, “Keep your bags and valuables carefully, don't buy tickets from black marketeers, keep an eye on the movement of people around you.  

Railway police should be informed if suspicious or carrying illegal goods are seen”.  

Later, DIG (Administration) Md Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan visited Cox's Bazar Railway Station and exchanged views with passengers and railway staff.
