Paris Saint-Germain are threatening to beat Bayern Munich to the signing of Manchester City winger Leroy Sané, according to Calciomercato, reports One Football.

The Bavarian champions have coveted Manchester City’s young winger for the best part of a year and were reportedly close to signing the German international before his injury in August’s Community Shield victory over Liverpool.

Now, reports suggest that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in adding Sané to their impressive frontline, which already includes Kylian Mbappé, Neymar, Angel Di Maria and on-loan Mauro Icardi.

This news comes alongside recent rumours that Edinson Cavani has agreed to leave the French giants and join Atletico Madrid at the end of the season. The departure of the 32-year-old Uruguay international could mean PSG are on the lookout for a new forward as Mbappé begins to play more and more centrally.

Other reports indicate that Bayern Munich are encountering additional obstacles in negotiations with Sané, including his wage demands – which could threaten the balance in the dressing room and lead to stars such as Robert Lewandowski asking for a rise. However, the report states that the Munich team are still in regular contact with Sané’s representatives.
