Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) is preparing to conduct the postponed tests for recruiting 32,000 primary assistant teachers as the government has decided to reopen schools and colleges from September 12.
According to DPE sources, the work has already begun to print the OMR sheet of the recruitment test. In addition, the process of making question papers is also going on.
However, the tests are likely to take place early next year, DPE sources said. DPE has started the overall preparations for conducting the examinations following the announcement of the reopening of the educational institutions.
The recruitment test was likely to be held in 2020. The recruitment was later postponed due to the closure of the educational institutions for coronavirus pandemic.
Sources said although preparations have been made to take the test, there is no possibility of holding it soon as many big public examinations are scheduled to be held in November and December this year.
DPE Additional Director General Sohel Ahmed told the media, “As a result, the number of required examination centres will not be available for conducting the recruitment examinations this year. However, if the Corona situation does not deteriorate, there may be an examination for the recruitment of assistant teachers at the beginning of next year.”
He also said, “With the announcement of opening of schools and colleges, work has already started to print the OMR sheet of the test and to make question papers.”
“Big public exams including PSC, JSC, SSC and HSC will be held this year. As a result, there is no possibility of conducting the recruitment test of primary assistant teachers this year,” he added.
The government issued the biggest notification so far for the appointment of primary assistant teachers on October 19, 2019. However, the test for the recruitment of some 32,000 assistant teachers for government primary schools has been halted for a long time due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the Department of Primary Education, more than 13 lakh candidates have applied for 32,000 posts this time.
