In the financial year 2020-21, the third and fourth instalment stipend money and kit allowance of Tk 1,000 will be given to the primary students altogether and the students will buy clothes, shoes and bags with the money. This information was given in an order published on the website of the Department of Primary Education yesterday (April 28).
The data inclusion will start from May 9 and the headmasters of the schools will be able to submit data on the PESP portal of the Postal Department's digital financial service 'Nagad' until May 25. The stipend scheme for primary education has said that the first and second instalments of the current financial year will be distributed to the mobile accounts of the beneficiary parents soon.
The 'Nagad' authorities will take necessary steps to open the PESP portal before May 9, it has been learnt.
The letter further said that the work of entry in the PESP portal has been completed with the aim of disbursing the stipend money for the first and second instalments (July 20 to December 20) of the 2020-21 financial year. Soon the stipends will be disbursed.
The project will expire on June 30. Due to the provisions of the financial year, there is no option to complete the data entry work of the distribution of stipends in the third and fourth instalments within the stipulated time.
Every student eligible for stipend will get kit allowance for the period January to March 2021, in the third instalment along with the stipend amount of additional one thousand.
