Pry students attending classes online in Natore

On the backdrop of the Coronavirus pandemic and the on-going lockdown and closure of all educational institutions of the country, more than 300 students of more than 210 Primary Schools under Singra upazila under Natore district are attending their regular classes through online. 

Ali Ashraf, Education Officer of Singra upazila is the pioneer of introducing the online classes among the Primary students of Natore district. 

It is learnt, being instructed by the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education to continue online based classes during the closure of all educational insitututions for the Coronavirus pandemic, Singra upazila Education Officer Ali Ashraf  took initiatives to conduct classes for the primary students through online. He trained 1,115 Primary teachers of 210 schools of the upazila under Google Meet programme and those teachers were giving daily lessons for the students through eight clusters and 45 to 50 sub-clusters.  From April-25 this year,  some 300 students of class III, IV and V are being given daily lessons through online. Ali Ashraf had also introduced the online based class in Natore sadar upazila earlier. Hafizur Rahman, guardian of a beneficiary student informed due to closure of the schools for a long time, his son lost his concentration on study, But after introduction of Google Meet, he is now regular attending his online classes. He welcomed such a great action of the upazila education officer. 

Sakhawat Hossain, Assitant Teacher of Pakuria Government Primary School informed the online education programme was first introduced for primary students under the supervision of Singra upazila education office  through Chalanbeel Online School Facbook Page from June-2020 which is benefitting the students a lot.

Upazila Education Officer Ali Ashraf in this connection said, he contacted with the guardians of the students at first and then introduced the lessons of class V through Googel Meet. Then the intriduced lessons of class III and class IV gradullay. He said, the works are underway to expand the programme further. Those who have the smart phones can easily attend the classes, he added. 

Shamim Ahmed, Deputy Commi­ssoiner  of  Natore also welcomed the introduction of the online class system and hoped such programme should be introducted countrywide to give lessons to the students through online.
