Awami League central leader Naimuzzaman Mukta said on Sunday that the report published on the Independence Day, March 26, by Prothom Alo insulting our great Independence was nothing new on the part of this daily.
" Bad journalism has become a regular practice of the Prothom Alo .Bad journalism is tantamount to conspiracy against the state and the prothom Alo is involved in activities against democracy and Independence", he said while talking to the Bangladesh Post on Sunday.
He added that the Prothom Alo earlier sought apologies for several times after publishing reports in the name of ‘so-called secularism, and insulting the religion.
Mentioning that the report was artificially prepared with some fake characters, Naimuzzaman Mukta also Vice-President of Panchagarh District Awami League and a member of Awami League’s central sub-committee on Information and Research Affairs, said, it was undoubtedly ill-motived to insult the War of Liberation, the Independence and also to undermine the government.
He said, both Prothom Alo and Daily Star historically have been working for the de-politicization in the country.
They are the parts of the attempts of implementing the blueprint of Dr Yunus. They are proved to be active against the country and its development, including the construction of the Padma Bridge.
"These two dailies worked behind the creation of 11/1 and tried to exclude two top leaders--Sheikh Hasina and Khaleda Zia--from politics", said Naimuzzaman Mukta and continued as saying that they wanted to damage the democratic system in Bangladesh and wanted to form a government like that in Afganistan applying the formula of Dr Yunus."
Naimuzzaman Mukta criticized some diplomats, who issued statement violating the Geneva Convention, and said those diplomats interfered illogically and unethically.
Besides, Naimuzzaman Mukta through his social media (facebook) account also criticised the United Nations for one of its officials, who instead of regognising the March 25 as the ‘Genocide Day’, supports the anti-liberation report by a daily newspaper.
