Protests against vandals on

Different political and social organisations continued their protests rally on Monday demanding exemplary punishment and arrest of all those involved in the vandalism on the sculpture of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Kushtia on Saturday.

Dhaka University Teachers Association (DUTA) held a protest program on the campus.

Terming the attack on Bangabandhu’s sculpture is a direct attack on the country’s liberation sprit, they vowed to stage tougher movement if all culprits are not brought under trial.

Bangabandhu Sangakritik Jote, a pro-ruling platform of the cultural activists organised a protest rally in front of Awami League’s central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the city on Monday.

Speakers at the rally demanded immediate arrests of all the people involved in the recent vandalism of Bangabandhu’s sculpture.

Various associate bodies of Awami League also staged demonstrations and rallies to protest the incident.

They also have demanded the arrest and punishment of those involved in the vandalism of Bangabandhu's sculpture.

 AL front organizations held protest rallies and demonstrations at Bangabandhu Avenue. The organizations are- Jubo League, Jubo Mahila League, Jatiya Sramik League, Swechchhasebak League, Krishak League and Matsyajibi League. 

Dhaka City Awami League's Ward No. 20 also organized a rally. Hundreds of leaders and activists of the ruling party and front organisations took part in these processions and rallies.

Jubo League held a short rally in front of the Bangabandhu Avenue. They alleged that anti-sculpture activities were fueled by the defeated forces of independence, the communal and extremist group BNP-Jamaat. 

The leaders of Jubo League strongly condemned and protested the incident.

Jubo League announced to stay on the streets to resist this evil force. Jubo League leaders and activists have been instructed to keep an eye on whether the radical communal group was involved in any misconduct.

They brought out processions in Gulistan, Nur Hossain Square and adjacent areas. The procession ended in front of the central office of Awami League.

At the same time, the Swachchasebak League held a protest procession in front of the party office to demand exemplary punishment by arresting those involved.

Krishak League leaders and activists held a protest rally in the same area. They demanded immediate arrest and trial of those involved in the vandalism of the sculpture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Leaders and activists of the Jubo Mohila League also took part in the procession.
