A protest rally was held in the Cahatmohar upazila of Pabna district demanding the ban on the terrorist organization International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and protesting the murder of young lawyer Saiful Islam Alif in Chattogram.
Ulema Parishad of the Chatmohar unit organized the rally at the Baluchar Playground in the Chatmohar municipal area at 10:00am on Saturday.
Hafez (a person who memorized the whole Quran) Nuruzzaman, president of Chattmohar Ulema Parishad, inaugurated the rally while vice president Maulana Mofiz Uddin, Hafez Md Hasnuzzaman, general secretary Maulana Altaf Hossain, and Hasanuzzaman Sabuj and Tanvir Jewel Likhon from the Student-Citizen Platform addressed the rally, among others.
While addressing the rally, they said Sanatan Hindus and ISKCON are not the same.
They called for the government's intervention to ban ISKCON, describing it as a radical Hindu nationalist militant organization that is an enemy of Islam. They also demanded the death penalty for the killers of Advocate Saiful Islam Alif, who was murdered in Chattogram
