Awami League, Jubo League, Swechasebak League, ChhatraLeague leaders of various wards of the city have held protest marches and demonstrations in the city against the BNP-Jamaat anti-independence clique's sabotage, police killings, car burning, hartal-blockade in the name of movement across the country.
A protest march and rally was held at Kazirdewri intersection in the city on Thursday afternoon.
City Awami League leader Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babor, spoke as the chief guest in the program under the chairmanship of former central Chhatra League leader Farhadul Islam Rintu and moderated by former general secretary of CityChhatra League Nurul Azim Rony.
Babor said that the strike blockade of BNP-Jamaat has been washed away by the tide of development of Awami League. With the people's mandate, the Awami League government has taken the country to a unique height through mega development, and BNP-Jamaat alliance has made Bangladesh the 3-time world champion in corruption in the world court after only 5 years in power. So people rejected them by showing red card. If the BNP-Jamaat clique plays with people's lives in the upcoming 12th parliamentary elections, then all the organizations of Awami are ready to resist them.
He warned and said that according to the constitution, the upcoming twelfth parliamentary election will be held under Prime Minister Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina. People will resist those who will go against the constitution.
