Prokriti O Jibon Foundation began its journey with a documentary series called ‘Prokriti O Jibon’. Today is the ninth edition of Prokriti Mela organized on the Channel i premises. There will be various programmes throughout the day on the initiative of the Prokriti O Jibon Foundation including music performance, character shows, watercolor painting, gambhira, kavigan, puppet dancing, mime show, photographic exhibition, dance performances etc.
Reputed environmentalists, researchers, naturalists and dignitaries of the country will be present at the fair to call for the protection of nature. Various institutions, nurseries, handicrafts and cottage industries will participate in the fair with nature-related equipments. There will be various species of marine fish stalls, pitha stalls and other eco-friendly stalls. Famous artists of the country will draw pictures of trees, shrubs, flowers and birds on one side of the fair. On the other hand, there will be different landscape drawings painted by children.
The 'Nature Fair' will start at 10 am and end at 4 pm. Channel i will broadcast Prokriti Mela live. An event will be held at 6pm today to present the 'Nature Conservation Medal'. Valerie A. Taylor is receiving the medal this year. In addition to the Nature Conservation Medal, the Environment City of the Year award will be presented as well. This time, Rajshahi City Corporation will receive the award.
