Programme launched to plant 20,000 trees in Shariatpur

Social organization West Health and Education Foundation, Eco Concern Association and Real Friendship Association have taken an initiative to plant 20,000 fruit, forest and herbal tree at various places in Shariatpur marking Mujib Barsho. 

Until the trees grow up, the members of the organizations will take care of these trees. The tree planting program was inaugurated at the grounds of Mridha Kandi Government Primary School on Tuesday noon.

AKM Hoshiari, Deputy Director of District Youth Development Department was present at the programme as the chief guest under the chairmanship of Abdul Quddus Mridha. 

Vedorganj Upazila Social Service Officer Anisur Rahman Tapu, West Health and Education Foundation Chairman Delwar Hossain, Eco Concern Association General Secretary Saifur Rahman Khokon and other local dignitaries were present at the time.

Delwar Hossain, Chairman of West Health and Education Foundation, said, “Trees play a vital role in protecting our environment. We applaud the announcement of planting three trees in Mujib Barsho given by the Prime Minister”.

AKM Hoshiari, Deputy Director of District Youth Development Department urged everyone to plant more native fruit trees to easily meet the nutritional needs. At this time, he also discussed about the quality of the tree and the nutrition of the fruit tree.
