Programme launched to make Katiadi beggar-free

Kishoreganj-2 MP Nur Mohammad said, “We have to be sympathetic towards the marginalized people of the society. We need to take care of their needs.”  He called for treatment of marginalized people in the society without any ill-treatment.

Nur Mohammad MP said this while addressing as the chief guest at a beggar rehabilitation function at Katiadi upazila in Kishoreganj on Saturday (October 3). Nur Mohammad said, ‘Irregularities often happen with various government assistance. If all of them work together to prevent these, the way out will come out. He called upon the local people's representatives to keep abreast of the people of the area and work as their servants.

Katiadi Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Akterunnesa presided over function, while  Upazila Awami League Acting President Dilip Ghosh, General Secretary Abdul Wahab Ayn Uddin, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Tanvir Hasan, journalist Fazlul Haque Zoarder, Upazila Social Service Officer Mainur Rahman Monir, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairmen Rezaul Karim Sikder and Roksana Akter were present at that time, among others. 

Later, cows, goats, sewing machines, etc. were distributed among the beggars with the aim of building a beggar-free Katiadi upazila through the implementation of beggar rehabilitation.
