As the festival season concludes, Professor Yunus has called for a return to discipline and unity to rebuild the nation, emphasizing the urgent need for reform amidst recent chaos. The recent wave of violence and anarchy, marked by loss of lives and property damage, has sparked a renewed call for national solidarity and action.

In his statement, Professor Yunus condemned the ongoing cycle of political dehumanization and violence, highlighting the injustices faced by individuals across political lines. He criticized both the Awami League and BNP for perpetuating a culture of revenge and factionalism, urging all parties to rise above partisan conflicts and work towards a more equitable society.

He specifically called on the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami to ensure that their supporters uphold peace and protect the properties of their political adversaries, stressing the need to end destructive political practices.

The recent attacks on Hindu homes, vandalism of historical sites, and destruction of sculptures underscore the breakdown of law and order in the country. Professor Yunus expressed concern over the current state of the police force and the lack of protection for citizens. He proposed an interim government to swiftly address these issues, restore order, and rebuild trust in the police. He emphasized the importance of forming a new government that can ensure impartiality and transparency in governance.

Professor Yunus also highlighted the need to restore the historical house of Bangabandhu at 32 Dhanmondi and other damaged cultural sites. This act, he believes, would symbolize national healing and respect for the country's heritage. He urged the interim government, once established, to focus on these restoration efforts and reaffirm the nation’s commitment to protecting its diverse cultural and historical assets.

Looking ahead, Professor Yunus called for comprehensive reforms in key institutions, including the judiciary, police, and election commission, to pave the way for fair and free elections. He stressed that the interim government should work towards a system where elected leaders are held accountable and where the principles of justice and fairness are upheld.

This period of transition is critical for Bangladesh, and Professor Yunus’s message serves as a crucial reminder of the need for unity, reform, and respect for the rule of law as the country navigates its path forward.
