Prof DrTahminaShirin has been appointed as the Director of the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
She previously worked as the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of the Virology Department of the IEDCR which is the government’s disease monitoring agency.
The appointment will be effective from August 20 when the current director Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora will join as the additional director general for health.
Prof Shirin studied MBBS at Mymensingh Medical College.
She then did MPhil and Ph.D.
