Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman condoled the death of DU Professor Emeritus Dr Sultana Sarwat Ara Zaman. In a condolence message, on Monday, Professor Akhtaruzzaman expressed his profound shock at death of noted academician and psychologist Dr Sultana Sarwat Ara Zaman .
He said Professor Sultana played a pioneering role in establishing the Department of Special Education at the Institute of Education and Research of DU. She will be remembered for her great contribution to establish Bangladesh Protibandhi Foundation and other social welfare oriented organizations for changing the lots of disadvantaged, mentally and physically challenged children and women, DU VC said.
Professor Akhtaruzzaman prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul of Professor Sultana and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members of the deceased. It may be mentioned here that Dr Zaman (87) died on Monday at her daughter’s residence in the city. She was suffering from various old-age complications.
