Priyanka Sarkar is a bit tense about her new project — a photography exhibition. The actress, who is currently recuperating from her leg injury, will be seen in still portraits, depicting a romantic woman from Tagore’s era. Fashion photographer Tathagata Ghosh has captured moments of Priyanka in a theme that delves into the romanticism of the Tagore era in early 20th century in a unique form of story-telling through photography.

“My character can be of any woman from Tagore’s work. It shows a nonchalant longing. We are calling the exhibition, Awaiting. Kolkata’s revered make-up artist Abhijit Chanda and talented stylist Oindrila Bose have set the look and the result is outstanding. While the theme is inspired by Tagore era, each and every photograph has room for interpretation,” Priyanka told us.

While talking about the inception of this idea, the actress said that it all started from an adda. “Tathagata wanted to tell a story and we came up with this idea. Throughout the photographs, you will see the character longing for something,” she said.

While it is not the first time Tathagata will be hosting an exhibition of his works, it is the first time for Priyanka in such a project. “I have worked for editorial shoots and film shoots. They are different. It is easier in front of the movie camera. There are co-factors and dialogues to express emotion. But portraying emotion in a frozen frame is tricky. It is challenging and I enjoyed it thoroughly,” said Priyanka, who also shared a photograph with us on Monday.
