National Film Awarded winning musician Dr. Priyanka Gope is a teacher in the music department of Dhaka University profession. That is why she tries to keep busy with music outside of her teaching profession. There is no end to her busyness of stage shows, TV shows and the continuous process of developing her trait through publishing new songs.
This time two new songs have been released on YouTube for Durga Puja. One is single and the other is duet. The name of the single is 'Mayamoy'. Written by Tofail Hossain Tapan and tunes by Muntasir Tushar. On the other hand, GK Dutta wrote the song 'Behager Shur' and the music was composed by Samarjit Roy.
Regarding the songs, Priyanka Gope said, "The two songs are of two different types. In each new song, I try to sing with my own words as I rediscover myself. The same is true for both of these songs. However, the song Mayamoy is a little different. The tone, the words often touch my own mind. Samarjit also did a great job. The differences were found in both songs. That is why I am getting good response for both songs. That's not to say that I try to sing without hearing the thoughts of my audience members.”
Meanwhile, the artist has performed in almost all the puja mandaps in the capital on the occasion of Durga Puja. Priyanka Gope received her doctorate degree on 'Diversity and Aesthetics of North Indian Classical Music' on July 30 this year.
