A prisoner, who had been suffering life term imprisonment, died in Jashore Central Jail on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Majid (50) son of Mozam Driver of Kishmat Nawapara under Jashore sadar Upazila. Jailor Abu Taleb, Jashore Central Jail told newsmen that the attending doctor declared the man dead as soon as he was rushed there after he felt pain in the chest. The man was taken to the jail with life term conviction in a murder case on October 11, 2017, he added. Medical officer Shafiullah Sabuj of Jashore General Hospital told journalists that the patient died before he was taken to the hospital.
