Rukayat Mujib Rumaysa
Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the eldest sibling in the ‘Sheikh Family’ and Sheikh Russel was the youngest. Sheikh Hasina was born on September 28, 1947 and Sheikh Russel was born on October 18, 1964 at the historic Bangabandhu Bhaban in Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
He studied at ‘University Laboratory School’.
However, a group of unscrupulous officers of Bangladesh planned to kill Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On August 15, after midnight, they killed Bangabandhu and his entire family including the child Sheikh Russel. But luckily Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her younger sister were in Germany. And when they were preparing themselves for the journey, they asked if they could take Sheikh Russel along with them but their mother did not allow. So only the premier and her younger sister went to Germany. Even though I am only 9 years old I think how lucky Sheikh Russel would have been had his mother allowed him to go to Germany. I can understand how hard it is to lose someone you love as my father lost his father my mother lost her mother and father and I lost my grandpa, grandma and three uncles. I wonder how scary and horrible it was for a child of my age to experience such a nightmare. And how bad Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina feels to lose her entire family! But I want to make the Prime Minister feel better, so I decided to print a picture of the premier and Sheikh Russel together and I would like you to donate my savings that I saved for over two years to all the poor people.
Rukayat Mujib Rumaysa was born on 11 December 2010 at Dhaka Cantonment. She is the only daughter of Major General Md Majibur Rahman and Tasrin Mujib. She is studying in class III in Bangladesh International School and College, Mohakhali, Dhaka. She is fond of reading. Swimming and singing are her hobbies.
