Prime Minister of Japan calls on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has called Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In a telephone conversation that started at 1:05 pm on Wednesday, the Prime Ministers of the two countries discussed the Covid-19 epidemic, bilateral economic cooperation and various projects under implementation of Japanese assistance.

Later, Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim informed the media.

Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had informed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina that a bill to assist Bangladesh had already been approved by the Japanese parliament. 

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wants more Japanese investment to strengthen economic ties with Japan. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also called for further strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries. Sheikh Hasina briefed the Prime Minister of Japan on the current Rohingya situation.

It may be mentioned that Japan will provide 329 million US dollars to Bangladesh to deal with the epidemic of Covid-19. The announcement was made by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday afternoon.
