Prime Bank beat Gazi by two wickets

Prime Bank defeated Gazi Group Cricketers by 2 wickets in a hard-fought match at Sher e Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, in the Super League phase of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.

Despite regular fall of wickets, Prime Bank chased down the target of 126 runs losing eight wickets and one ball in hand. Prime Bank lost five wickets within 51 runs. Then Nayeem Hasan and Nahidul Islam made a 36-run partnership, however, Nayeem departed with 16 runs. Then, Nahidul was returned by Mahmudullah, who scored 39 runs.

AlokKapali played an unbeaten inning of 21 runs off 15 balls, which propelled the side to seal the victory. Mahedi Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, and MominulHaque took two wickets each while Mahmudullah got one wicket.

Earlier, Gazi Group Cricketers scored 125 while batting first, losing nine wickets in 20 overs. The opener Soumya Sarkar returned for naught. MominulHaque and Mahedi Hasan resisted for a while, putting 40 run partnerships. However, Mominulwas dismissed on 10 runs, while Mahedi departed scoring 33 off 31 balls hitting four boundaries.

Then ArifulHaque played an innings of 31 runs and Akbar Ali made 24 runs before getting out. AlokKapali took three wickets while Shoriful Islam picked up a couple of wickets for Prime Bank.
