A presiding officer and a polling agent of a candidate was nabbed on allegation of taking ballot paper outside the polling center at Majhpara Kusumkoli Government Primary School under Rameshwarpur union in Bogura on Wednesday.
The detainees are Presiding Officer Shahjahan Ali and Polling Agent Ershad Ali.
Additional Police Superintendent of Bogura Suman Ranjan confirmed the matter to the media.
The police official said Presiding Officer Shahjahan Ali sent 900 signed and sealed ballot papers outside of the polling center by Polling Agent Ershad Ali. A total of 300 ballot papers were dropped by many voters. Ershad was nabbed and 600 ballot papers were recovered from him. Later, token of 900 ballot papers was recovered from the Presiding Officer.
He also said that necessary actions will be taken against the detainees according to the law.
