Prep for Chuadanga AL conference complete

All section of people in four Upazilas of Chuadanga district have been gossiping in every places over triennial council of Chuadanga District Unit of Bangladesh Awami League. It has become a festival for activists and leaders of the party. Many of them have been calculating who will be elected president and general secretary for the next three years.  

Awami League (AL) Chuadanga District Unit’s triennial council is going to be held on December 12 at Chuadanga Town Football Maidan in the district town after 7 years. For this reason, all preparations have been made for completing the program on the day.  

This was disclosed by Joint Secretary of District AL Reajul Islam Joarder Toton before local journalists at the press conference held at AL party office on December. Organizing Secretary Munsi Alamgir Hannan, Office Secretary Abu Taleb, Organizing Secretary Adv. Shamsuzzaha, Poura AL President Alauddin Hela were present at the press conference. 

According to press conference, 218 councilors will take part for making president and general secretary.   

    The district town has taken a festive look with streets being covered with posters, banners, festoons of aspirants seeking party posts. About 100 gates have been erected at different points of the district. Besides roads of the town are decorated with color lightings. A big stage in the shape of a boat has been erected for this council. 

District, Upazilas, Municipalities, Unions and Ward Level leaders and activists will take part at the program. Wide enthusiasm is seen around the conference among the leaders and activists of Sadar, Alamdanga, Damurhuda and Jibannagar Upazilas of Chuadanga district. 

About 50 thousand delegates, councilors, leaders, activists, former leaders, guests and media workers will take seat at the venue in healthy atmospheres. Law enforcers will be deployed there for controlling any untoward activities. 

 This program will encourage party leaders and activists to be proactive during the upcoming national polls. As a result, they will try to motivating common people to cast vote in favor of awamileague due to implementing development works at the areas during the tenure of ruling party, sources added.  

It may be mentioned here, Parliament Member and President of District Awami League Solaiman Hoque Joarder Selin is in only talks among leaders of the party for presidential candidate.

On the other hand, the post of general secretary will be in competition between ongoing organizing secretary of District AL Munsi Alamgir Hannan and ongoing general secretary of District AL Azadul Islam Azad. Munsi  Alamgir Hannan was president of District Chhatra League, General Secretary of Chuadanga Govt College Chhatrasangsad, District Juba League leader and now ongoing Organizing Secretary of District AL. Somebodies said, Member of Parliament and vice president of District AL Ali Azgor Tagor and Organising Secretary of District AL Advocate Abdul Malek may be candidate in the post of general secretary. 

Awami League Presidium Member Kaji Jafarullah will inaugurate the conference. General Secretary of Awami League Central Committee and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Ministry Obaidul Quader, MP, will attend as chief guest. Joint Secretary of Central AL AFM Bahauddin Nasim will deliver speech as chief speaker. Organizing Secretary of Central AL BM Mozammel Hque, Member, Executive Committee of Central AL Advocate Amirul Alam Milon, MP, Advocate Gloria Sarker Jharna, MP, and Executive Committee Member of Central AL Parvin Jaman Kolpona are expected to attend at the program as special guests. The session will be presided over by freedom fighter Solaiman Hoque Joarder Selun, MP. 

The programs included hoisting of national flag and party flag, releasing of balloons, placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, discussion meeting and council session. 

A rally will be brought out on December 11 for holding the council and protest against heinous activities of BNP-Jamaat activists and leaders.
