A pregnant woman was killed as a truck hit her while she was crossing a road in Postogola area of Dhaka on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Suma Begum, 40, wife of Asad Mia from Keraniganj in Dhaka. She was pregnant, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost.
The victim was crossing the road near Postogola bridge with her younger son while the accident took place around 12:00pm, said Tanmay Mia, victim's elder son.
She was rushed to DMCH where the doctors declared her dead around 1:00pm, he added.
