A 24-year-old woman riding on a bike was killed and her husband suffered serious injuries in a road crash in Jashore's Manirampur Upazila on Friday.
The deceased was Shirin Akter Kona, wife of Ruhul Quddus of Tajpur village in the Upazila.
The accident occurred around 11am near Muragachha Bazar when the motorcycle carrying the couple hit a truck coming from the opposite direction, leaving the duo injured, said Sheikh Mohammad Moniruzzaman, officer in charge (OC) of Manirampur police station.
Locals rushed them to Jashore General Hospital where doctors declared Kona dead around 12pm, added the OC.
Injured Quddus is now receiving treatment at the hospital.
The body was sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy, the OC said.
