The poster for Amitabh Reza’s new film ‘Rickshaw Girl’ was unveiled recently. The colorful poster depicting a mysterious young girl has captured the attention of social media users.
The film is being produced by Eric James Adams. Faridur Reza Sagar and Ziauddin Adil are the executive producers. The screenplay for the film was written by Nasif Faruk Amin and Sharbari Zohra Ahmed.
‘Rickshaw Girl’ was shot in several different locations including Pabna, Gazipur and Dhaka. For the first time in Bangladeshi film history, a set of more than a hundred slum houses were made in Gazipur’s Bangabandhu Film City. The film is based on the 2007 best-selling book of the same name by Mitali Perkins.
Novera Rahman stars as the titular character of Rickshaw Girl Naima in the film. Naima is the adventurous elder daughter of a rickshaw-puller. She is a brave, independent girl who grew up in a small town. She supplements the meager family income by drawing colorful illustrations. One day she moves to the city, and after fighting obstacles, becomes a rickshaw girl.
