Seven students of Jhenaidah polytechnic institute have invented a sanitary pad vending machine as their third invention project while, they had invented an Automatic House Cleaner and Life Safety Robot and an Agro Robot earlier. The newly invented sanitary pad vending machine had attained the Basis international ICT Award.

The invention is now occupying the tenth position in the international APICTA World competition in 15 countries like Bangladesh China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, India, Australia and Malaysia.

Hridoy Hossain, a Jhenaidah polytechnic institute student and the team leader said the women face a lot of troubles when they appear to purchase periodic materials like sanitary napkins from any medicine or grocery shops. This sort of unwanted situation sometimes discourages the women from purchasing their necessary materials publicly.

The machine will save them from any odd and embarrassing situation as she could collect a pad spending Taka 10 through Bkash or Nagad payment using the machine from a suitable place in her town.

Two other team members Sharmin Akter Tanni and Baktiar Ahmed Bappi expressed their reaction and said a client can collect the same from a machine using mobile apps and detect the location immediately she desires.

Sazed Ur Rahman, principal of Jhenaidah polytechnic institute when contacted said the college authority has been rendering all out cooperation when the students one after another have been inventing a number of devices. He hopes that the project will play role in reducing some women related diseases caused by unhygienic sanitary napkins and ensure safety of the women community towards a better world for them.
