Polok for world-class education in villages

In a groundbreaking declaration, State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Polok unveiled plans to revolutionize education for talented individuals in remote villages, aiming to create a world-class learning environment through talent hunts.

Speaking at the Aga Khan Academy in Bashundhara, Minister Polok outlined a visionary strategy that involves a knowledge partnership agreement between the Aga Khan Academy and the ICT department. This collaboration aims to empower underprivileged children in rural areas, fostering their growth into modern global citizens.

Key initiatives include launching an Artificial Intelligence (AI), Literacy Campaign Awareness Program, which will be instrumental in nurturing a technologically proficient generation. Minister Palak emphasized the significance of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's vision for a Smart Bangladesh by 2041, with an emphasis on developing smart citizens through innovative education.

The Sheikh Hasina Institute of Frontier Technology in Shibchar will play a pivotal role in this endeavor, offering training programs on AI and robotics. Moreover, partnerships with platforms like A2i's Mukotpaath and Eduhub will ensure widespread accessibility to quality education materials

Minister Polok reiterated the government's commitment to transitioning from Digital Bangladesh to Smart Bangladesh, leveraging education, technology, and knowledge as the driving forces of progress. He highlighted plans to develop an AI-powered government brain to streamline public and private services while safeguarding against misuse through the proposed AI Act.

Acknowledging the Aga Khan Academy as a beacon of educational excellence, Minister Polok proposed collaboration to modernize government educational institutions and promote ICT integration in education. The partnership aims to establish AI awareness programs, Innovation Challenge Funds, and a robust Education and Knowledge Ecosystem.

Mr. Munir Merali, the diplomatic representative of the Aga Khan Development Network in Bangladesh, commended the initiative, underscoring the importance of collective efforts in advancing education and technology for societal development.

As the nation embarks on this transformative journey, Minister Palak's vision promises to bridge the gap between urban and rural education, paving the way for a brighter future for all citizens of Bangladesh.
