Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun on Thursday said police are restlessly working for providing security in a bid to smooth celebrations of events of all religious people of the country.
The police chief made this remarks while talking to the journalists after visiting the law and order situation at MerulBadda International Buddhist ihar in the capital Dhaka during the celebration of Buddha Purnima, the main festival of the Buddhist community.
We are doing every thingsso that people of all religions can celebrate their religious festivals peacefully, he described.
He further said we always stand with you in any need and we are always ready to help you in any way. He also told that police are working as per the directives of the prime minister for ensuring security in different religious occasions.
Please inform police immediately in case of any occurrence or any untoward incident, he suggested adding that calling to the emergency service 999 is the easiest way to get a quickest assistance.
About the law and order situation in theRohingya camps, the IGP told that necessary steps are being taken whenever there is any criminal activities at Rohingya camp and police always take prompt action.
Law enforcement agencies achieved success in combating militancy and terrorism by working together with people of the country after adopting the 'zero tolerance policy' taken by the prime minister, he claimed.
