Voting will be held on June 15 in 7 unions of Noakhali Sadar, Senbagh, Begumganj and Hatiyar. All sorts of preparations have already been made for the polls. Extensive preparations have been made by the administration for free and fair elections. Voting equipment is being sent to the centers. Meanwhile, police recovered a large quantity of domestic weapons in Senbagh.
Voting equipment was delivered to the constituencies on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the district election office, polling will be held on June 15 at 75 centers in Binodpur of Sadar upazila, Mirwarishpur of Begumganj, Kesharpar of Senbagh, Arjuntala, Mohammadpur and Hatiyar Harani and Chanandi unions. Simultaneous polling will be held at 477 booths in 75 centers of 7 unions from 8 am on Wednesday. Voting will continue uninterrupted until 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, the patrol police recovered a large quantity of domestic weapons from a bush on the side of a road in Kesharpar Union of Senbagh Upazila on the basis of secret information while on duty in the constituency around 3pm on Monday. The weapons were in a sack. Among them are four machetes, two swords, two steel pipes, four iron rods and four sticks.
Police say it is initially thought that the mausoleum was stockpiled with weapons in the run-up to the election. However, it was not possible to detain anyone as no one was found during the rescue operation.
Senbagh Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Iqbal Hossain Patwari said multiple teams of police were working to avoid all kinds of violence in the polls. A general diary will be kept in case of arms recovery.
District Senior Election Officer Mesbah Uddin said election materials would be delivered to each polling station between noon and noon on Tuesday.
We have made all preparations for the polls by giving equal importance to 85 centers in 6 unions of four Upazilas. Members of the police, BGB, RAB, intelligence and white-collar law enforcement and magistrates will be on duty at the polling stations.
