The operation was conducted on Friday afternoon at the Link Road of Sitakunda police station.
According to District DB sources, during the illegal smuggling of Indian cloth to Chattogram, an operation was conducted on the link road of Sitakunda police station.
A covered van was searched and 28 sacks of Indian sarees and lehengas were seized. The estimated price of which is Tk 42 lakh. The District Detective Police has registered a case at the Sitakunda Police Station. Tofail Ahmed, OC of Sitakunda police station, said that a large amount of Indian cloth was seized in the operation of the district intelligence police.
The matter is being investigated by the district police. A case has been filed at the police station.
