Media and Publication Relations Wing of Bangladesh Police initiatedto recover a missing laptop sent by a Oman expatriate for his relative in Bangladesh.
Talking to the Bangladesh Post, Assistant Inspector General (Media and Publication Relations Wing) of Bangladesh Police Mir Sohel Rana confirmed it on Monday.
According to him, one Alauddin Mahi had informed police that his relative sent an expensive laptop through Masud Parvej Raja, a Oman expatriate who returned home recently. Alauddin told the laptop carrier that he would receive the laptop at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after his arrival.
But Raja stopped all kinds of communications after arriving in the airport. Alauddin later called at the mobiles of Raja and his brother. But they were making dilly-dally. At one stage, Raja refused to carry such laptop from Oman.
Sensing trouble, using the official Facebook page of Bangladesh Police, victim Alauddin informed it to Media and Publication Relations Wing. Getting the information, Media and Publication Relations Wing primarily collected some data in this regard.
AIG Sohel Rana said, “We came to know that Raja’s village is under Beramara Upazila in Kustia district. Media and Publication Relations Wing sent the message to Md Shajalal, Officer in Charge of Bheramara Police Station.
Media and Publication Relations Wing also instructed the OC to take necessary steps after investigation.
The OC sent a team of police lead by Sub Inspector Dipon Kumar Ghose to the house of Raja.
Local police had to visit the house of the accuse several times. Seeing police presence, Raja’s family first claimed that Raja did not return from Oman.
But police traced him and arrested Raja from Kustia. According to his information, police also seized the laptop. Later police returned the laptop to Alauddin.
After receiving the laptop, victim Alauddin said, “I am completely surprise seeing that police recovered the laptop within only ten days.”He also thanked police.
A case was filed in this connection.
