Police Oxygen Bank launched to save life

Rajshahi Range DIG of Police Md Abdul Baten inaugurated Natore Police Oxygen Bank as the chief guest at a function held at the drill shed of Natore Police Lines on Tuesday morning.

The DIG at the time said, the rate of corona infection is much higher in Natore district. It may not be possible to treat everyone in this condition. Many times patients are being treated at the hospital as well as at home. In this case, it is not possible for the doctors of the hospital to go to the patient's house and deliver other equipments including oxygen. 

However, police have that ability to deliver necessary equipment to the houses of the patients. Therefore, Natore Police have launched the oxygen bank to save the lives of the people by providing free oxygen as per the demand of the people of Natore during the Corona period, he added.

The DIG mentioned, if the corona patients need oxygen, they can call the police hot number (01320124503) from any area of the district and free oxygen will be delivered to their houses. He appealed to all and said that it is the duty of all of us as human beings to stand by the helpless people according to our ability.

In response to a question from media persons, Natore Superintendent of Police Liton Kumar Saha said, “The main objective of launching Natore Police Oxygen Bank is to provide free oxygen to our 1,053 policemen as well as the general public. In addition, the huge amount of oxygen we have will be supplied to the hospital if needed. When ordinary patients call the police hot number, the police members will go to their homes and provide oxygen cylinders”.

He further said that initially Natore Police Oxygen Bank started its journey with 30 cylinders of 6.8 M3 and 21 cylinders of 1.36 M3. More will be provided as per the demand of the latter. Through the launch of Oxygen Bank, the police members will supply oxygen cylinders in their own transport, own technology support facility, and when the oxygen in the cylinders runs out, they will go to the patient's house and collect the oxygen cylinders.

The inaugural function was attended by Additional DIG Joydev Kumar Bhadra, Natore Superintendent of Police Liton Kumar Saha, Managing Director (Administration) of Pran Agro Limited Abdur Rahim among others.
