Police and journalists will get priority in corona treatment at Bangabandhu Memorial Hospital in Chattogram. Information Minister Dr Hassan Mahmud announced this while inaugurating the 100-bed corona unit of the hospital through video conference on Tuesday afternoon.
The minister also hoped that the 200-bed hospital would be open to the public in phases during the inauguration ceremony at his ministry office in the capital.
Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Jabed, Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, CCC Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, Principal Secretary to PM Ahmed Kaikaus, Senior Secretary Kamal Uddin and IG of Police Dr Benazir Ahmed spoke as special guests at the time.
Vice President of Bangladesh Federal Union Journalist Riaz Haider Chowdhury, Joint General Secretary Mohsin Kazi, Chittagong District President of Bangladesh Medical Association Dr. Mujibul Haque were also present on the occasion.
The journalist leaders of Chittagong thanked the Information Minister for giving priority to the police and journalists in providing medical services at Bangabandhu Memorial Hospital and for announcing that the hospital would be open to the public.
