Shailkupa thana police in Jhenidah have played dramatic role to nab a murder accuse of a university student. They had clutched the accused in the guise of farmers at a remote village.
Officer in charge (investigation ) of Shailkupa police station Mohsin Hossain said, they were hunting one of the main accused Abdul Alim of Seikhpara village for few weeks as he was absconding. Following on a tip off, they dressed as farmers.
He along with other police men led by Tomaltala police outpost in charge Tarikul Islam rushed as Bakharba village in same upazila in the guise of farmers and managed to nab him on Sunday morning.
Arrested Abdul Alim is the son of some Yakub Ali of Seikhpara village in Shailkupa upazila. He was wanted on charge of killing Rabindra Maitree University student Arafat Hossain.
Arafat was beaten to death by accused Abdul Alim and his associates on April 28 following fallen of a storm-affected tree at their homestead. The police men were conducting drives to ban the remaining accused, OC investigation said.
